Historical Romance Cookie Hop

Updated: Dec 4, 2020

Hi friends, and welcome to my stop along the Historical Romance Cookie Hop! I'll be offering a different sort of tasty treat today: Rosca de Reyes, or Three Kings Bread!

Día de los Reyes, or Three Kings Day, is celebrated throughout Latin America, with some countries holding it in greater significance than Christmas. Formally known as the Feast of the Epiphany, Día de los Reyes celebrates the visit of the three kings or Magi to the infant Jesus, meant to represent Christ's physical introduction to the gentiles. The holiday was celebrated within my own family with a Rosca de Reyes ('Wreath of the Kings) pastry and the exchange of gifts. We opened presents on Christmas Day, and then again on January 6th...but in some countries, children wait until Día de los Reyes to exchange gifts! We always purchased our Rosca de Reyes from a Mexican bakery, but you can certainly make your own. Baking a homemade Rosca would be a great project to do with the family! Here's a fab recipe from Mexico In My Kitchen with detailed instructions and pictures!

And while you're enjoying a slice of Rosca and sipping a cup of Mexican hot chocolate, cozy up with my new holiday novella, THE CAPTAIN'S MIDWINTER BRIDE. It's a second chance romance with an older hero and heroine, who married for convenience a quarter of a century earlier...but now have to live together and perhaps finally find love. Visit me on Facebook and comment for a chance to win an e-copy of THE CAPTAIN'S MIDWINTER BRIDE! *Giveaway ends December,13th at noon EST. The winner will be randomly selected from the comments.
